Our first Strictly Valentine dance was fantastic, everyone really got into the spirit and we all had a great time. Next year might be a Late Late Valentine Dance as there is so much else going on around then. You romantic lot!
Congratulations to our former singer Lauren, who is now on The UK tour with Bill Kenwright's 'Dreamboats and Petticoats'
and will be coming to a theatre near you soon. Guitarist Adam is off to New Orleans in February with his Trad Jazz band 'The Old Jelly Rollers' Keep and eye out for them too. Michelle has started a new Management business, Melody Management and we are really pleased for her that it has started off so well.
Thanks to Derek, we have a couple more great new numbers, Quickstep to Yakety Sax, and smooth Rumba to All time High from the James Bond film Octopussy, beautifully sung by Michelle.
As a point of interest, Derek was in the band filming for the film Octopussy, but sadly only made it to the cutting room floor!
Great time had by all at the Oval Cricket Ground this week for a 70th Birthday Tea Dance. Everyone picked up the dances really quickly.
Thanks for the suggestions for new music, we now have a great new quickstep, SUDDENLY I SEE by KT Tunstall, and a smooth foxtrot inTHE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL from Michael Jackson. Thank you Adam for your arrangements.
Really looking forward to some great new events for us this year including the Braza Club at March, Cambs, and the open air dance on the River Stage at the National Theatre, London.
We have some great new arrangements for the band, B52's Love Shack and Uptown Funk for Cha Cha Cha, and Welcome to Burlesque for a terrific Argentine Tango. Always looking for new ideas for good music to dance to, so keep in touch with your recommendations.

A full dance floor all evening at Cheltenham Town Hall. The Party Samba definitely the highlight! Thanks to everyone involved for a terrific evening. Expertly hosted as always by Beverley Harwood.

The IDTA Congress Party night at the Floral Hall Ballroom, Southport was a wonderful event, so many great comments. Thank you all.

Weekend break at Mundesley
Great to see so many of you there this time. Thanks to Brian (Drums) and Ian (piano) for stepping in at the last minute to help out. Regular drummer Russell couldn't be with us this time as his wife had given birth to their second child only a few days before. We wish them all the best, and look forward to having Russell back with us this week, and at Mundesley in September. Don't forget to book early for Mundesley, as they need bookings in advance to run the event.
Huge thanks to Lisa and Simon of The Ballroom Experience for asking us back, and putting on another great night. They also raised £350 for the St Nicholas Hospice by auctioning off some very tasty looking cakes! Very well done to all.
A big thank you also goes our new vocalist Michelle Hixson, who made a fantastic debut performance with us at this gig. We all look forward to working with her again very soon.
Those of you who have seen the us recently will remember our singer, Lauren, who is now one of the resident entertainers at Hoburne Holiday Centre on the south coast. We wish her all the best, and hope she can get us a gig there soon!
