Our Musicians
Roger Chinery, Trumpet and Bandleader
Roger has been on the Ballroom dancing scene since 1994 and has over 30 years musical experience.
He regularly plays in Theatre, Big Bands and Jazz ensembles and took over the running of the Dance Band in 2008.
He is also Musical Director of the Galaxy Big Band, a top 1940's band based in East Anglia.

Michelle Parry, Vocals
Michelle realised her great passion for music and performing at a very early age, starting with the Suffolk Youth Orchestra where she was principal clarinet. She attended Cambridge University studying a BA honours in Music and during this time performed with the Homerton Choir as gospel soloist in Karl Jenkins Adiemus.
Highlights of her musical career include performances at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the National Youth Music Competition, The Royal Festival Hall, Peterborough Cathedral and The Barbican.

Derek Cubitt, Saxophone and Clarinet
Much in demand throughout East Anglia, especially for his jazz prowess, Derek has been there and done it! His vast musical experience varies from playing in the Mecca Bands back in the 50’s and 60’s to Musical Director of the World Circus Olympics in Liege.

Adam Chinery, Guitar
Adam joined the band in 2010 and has brought a new dimension of music with him.
He is an extremely talented guitarist, and is sought after by bands and theatres across
the nation for a variety of shows and musicals. Recent credits include Sister Act, Legally Blonde,
Fiddler on the Roof and Chicago.
He also gained a place on the prestigious Dave Brubeck Jazz course in San Francisco in the summer.

Paul Reynolds, Bass
Paul is an experienced and in-demand musician. Having studied with Laurence Cottle, Mike Mondesir and Jeff Clyne, Paul now works with top jazz, folk and pop artists, playing double bass, bass guitar and piano.

Russell Keay, Drums
Russell has been playing drums since he used to go out on gigs with his Dad when he was only 4. He has tremendous flair for all things percussion,
is incredibly versatile, and can switch between styles with ease. He is also much in demand throughout the region for jazz bands, function bands, and is a terrific big band drummer.
